Baguio City, the country's summer capital, is the second most preferred destination at 16 percent, followed by both Cebu and Siargao with nine percent each.
PUBLiCUS noted, however, that Cebu was the preferred destination among respondents in the Visayas, with 21 percent while 13 percent of Mindanaoans preferred Siargao.
Aklan, home to Boracay Island, took only 8 percent, followed by Batanes at 6 percent, Bohol at four percent, and Davao at 3 percent.
The results come after the Department of Tourism announced a brand new slogan, "LOVE The Philippines," replacing "It's more fun in the Philippines."
The independent and non-commissioned survey was conducted from June 7-12, had a sample size of 1,500 respondents drawn from a market research panel of 200,000 Filipinos maintained by PureSpectrum.
